beginning

the post yesterday sounded too melancholy.  the flavor of joy that i've been feeling didn't come through.   because finding that there is more alignment in my life than i thought, is very encouraging and uplifting.  reflection can bring beginning- and it did. the beginning is what our days are full of- trying, adjusting, remembering, striving, quieting, and continuing in reflection.

this beginning has been about listening more to zoe- not just hearing her, getting into her world not just expecting her to jump into mine.  yesterday i played 'littlest pet shop pets' with her- something i've often said "no thanks" to when asked to play.  it was actually fun- but the fun part was spending time with her in her way- and hearing her stories, her ideas, her brilliant little plans for these toys.

the beginning is about choosing to live with a messy house because forts are really fun!  being late if the getting there will be more enjoyable. this beginning is about choosing process over outcome in this stage of my life- and that is very freeing!

it's about forgiving the discouragement we can feel- and living in the grace.  because there is much of that- and it rains down when we ask- in some form or fashion- like manna from the sky.

"When we start at the center of ourselves, we discover something worthwhile extending toward the periphery of the circle.  We find again some of the joy in the now, some of the peace in the here, some of the love in me and thee which go to make up the kingdom of heaven on earth.

The waves echo behind me.  Patience- Faith - Openness are what the sea has to teach; Simplicity- Solitude- Intermittency.  But there are other beaches to explore.  There are more shells to find.  This is only the beginning."
