this weekend was great.
we went to the local hotel pool on saturday afternoon after a rainy morning and the kids were thrilled. sun and water- it's hard to go wrong.
then on sunday after another rockin' african church service, we were invited for lunch in kampala by the family of one of bryn's classmates. it was so nice! they are italian. i love italians- well, i haven't met an italian that i didn't like. they smile and talk and laugh and eat good food. they are kind and passionate and forgiving of people who are late and kids who say 'i don't like chicken' (even when they have made it specially because you have a gluten allergy and can't eat lasagne). it was fun and good and we felt like we were branching out. and after five weeks and turning the corner last week- it feels much more like home. not just in a philosophical way, but in a real way- like ok- we've moved here- we live here- this is home.
